Academic Philosophy

Brooke House Academy combines structured academic education with high-level soccer development.

Our objective is to support students in achieving academic progress while developing the discipline, independence and personal responsibility required for future success.

Academic Program

BHA incorporates Florida Virtual School Flex (FLVS Flex) coursework into its academic model, supported by onsite academic supervision, guidance and structured study periods.

Students are expected to:

  • Maintain active enrollment in their assigned courses.
  • Complete coursework and assessments.
  • Follow academic schedules and deadlines.
  • Communicate with teachers and academic staff.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress.
  • Demonstrate academic integrity.

Specific course availability, graduation requirements, credit arrangements and academic responsibilities are communicated during enrollment.

Academic Instruction & Learning Facilitation

Brooke House Academy operates a blended academic and soccer development model, utilizing Florida Virtual School (FLVS Flex) for academic coursework and instruction.

Academic courses are delivered by FLVS teachers, who provide subject-specific instruction, assessments, grading and academic feedback.

At each Brooke House Academy campus, students are supported by onsite Learning Facilitators who provide daily supervision, monitor academic progress, encourage student engagement, assist with organization and time management, and maintain communication with students, families and FLVS teachers as appropriate.

Our Learning Facilitators support the educational environment but do not replace the FLVS teachers responsible for delivering course instruction.

Brooke House Academy maintains appropriate personnel records and follows applicable Florida private school and scholarship program requirements.

Information regarding the qualifications of instructional personnel will be provided to parents in accordance with applicable Florida law.

Academic Progress

BHA monitors student engagement and academic progress through its educational arrangements.

Parents of scholarship students will receive a written explanation of student progress at least quarterly, consistent with applicable requirements.

Students with Disabilities and IDEA Disclosure

Parents considering private school enrollment should understand that educational services and rights may differ from those available in public schools.

A parentally placed private school student with a disability does not have an individual right to receive some or all of the special education and related services that the student would receive if enrolled in a public school under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), as amended.

BHA encourages families to discuss individual learning needs and available support before enrollment.

Any accommodations or services offered by BHA will be determined through the school's applicable procedures, resources, agreements and legal obligations.

Scholarship Participation

BHA's Jacksonville and Maitland campuses participate in applicable Florida scholarship programs.

The Tampa campus's scholarship participation is pending approval.

Families should confirm campus-specific scholarship eligibility before relying on scholarship funding.
