Purpose

Consistent attendance and academic participation are essential to student success at Brooke House Academy.

Students are expected to demonstrate the commitment and personal responsibility required to balance education and soccer development.

Attendance Expectations

Students are expected to:

  • Attend all scheduled academic sessions.
  • Arrive punctually and prepared.
  • Participate actively in assigned coursework.
  • Attend scheduled soccer sessions unless excused.
  • Follow academy arrival and departure procedures.
  • Notify staff of absences through the appropriate channels.

Reporting Absences

Parents or guardians should notify the academy as soon as reasonably possible when a student will be absent or late.

The academy may request supporting information for extended or repeated absences.

Academic Participation

Students enrolled in FLVS Flex courses must comply with the applicable FLVS course participation, communication, assessment and progress requirements.

Attendance at BHA does not, by itself, establish completion of FLVS coursework.

Students remain responsible for their assigned academic work.

Unexcused Absences and Persistent Lateness

Repeated attendance concerns may result in:

  • Parent notification.
  • Academic progress meetings.
  • Attendance improvement plans.
  • Restrictions on discretionary soccer activities where appropriate.
  • Disciplinary review for deliberate or repeated misconduct.

Attendance concerns arising from illness, disability-related needs or other protected circumstances will be reviewed appropriately.

Academic Priority

BHA may restrict participation in training, matches, showcases or other discretionary activities where students fail to meet established academic responsibilities, subject to applicable individual circumstances and agreements.

Extended Absences

Families should seek advance approval for planned extended absences.

Students remain responsible for coordinating coursework and meeting applicable educational requirements.

Parent Responsibilities

Parents and guardians are expected to support regular attendance, communicate concerns promptly and cooperate with academic improvement measures.
